If you want to enjoy the real Greek island life in an authentic environment with lots of sea, sun and culture without mass tourism then Kythira is the place for you. We would love to welcome you in our traditional guesthouse Fos kè Chóros.
Xenónas Fos kè Chóros (guesthouse light and space) is a small-scale guesthouse which is completely built in the traditional style with only 4 guestrooms. It is positioned in the heart of the island in a beautiful natural location surrounded by cypresses, right between the 2 picturesque villages of Aroniadika and Pitsinades. Each luxury guestroom has its own spacious private terrace with fantastic views across the Ionian Sea and large parts of the island. Every evening you can see the sun sinking into the sea, and on the terrace of our own little 'kafenion' you can enjoy your breakfast in the morningsun.
From the guesthouse it is only a 300 meters walk to the cosy villagekafenion of Aroniadika. A little further down in the village you will find the traditional restaurant I Maro and, from the Summer 2013 on, also a supermarket. In the vicinity you can find several other good restaurants. Potamos is the most important village in the northern part of the island, and is situated approximately 4 km away. It has all the facilities you need, such as a postoffice, a bank, cash-dispensers, supermarkets, shops, kafenions, an internet café and restaurants. Every sundaymorning the local market takes place in the village square. This is a real social happening where the islanders come from near and far to present their merchandise, and while enjoying a Greek coffee or an ouzo they review and discuss the events of the past week.
The most beautiful beaches on the island are located within a 15 minutes drive from the guesthouse. Visit the longs sandy beach of Paleopoli, the spectaculair Kaladi, the familybeach of Diakofti or Lykodimou beach where you can watch the sunset. During the summer you are guaranteed beautiful weather but even in November a dive into the sea on one of the deserted beaches is a pleasant experience.
In the menu to the right of this webpage you will find al the information on the island, our accommodations, prices and schedules of the planes and ferries.
Also have a look at our special tourism like the Olive-Picking-Weeks and SilentWalking which we organise outside the season.
In 2012 and 2013 Xenónas Fos kè Chóros won an international Zoover award in the category best Bed & Breakfasts of Greece.
